Mr. M.O. Eckel Jr., PT

M.O. Eckel Jr., PT, President of Mid-South Physical Therapy, graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. He has served as a physical therapist in the U.S. Navy, served on the faculty of the University of Tennessee at Memphis in the Program of Physical Therapy, and has been the director of two large physical therapy clinics in the Memphis area. In September 1992, he and his son, M.O. Eckel III, opened Mid-South Physical Therapy. In April of 1993, a second clinic was opened in Munford, Tennessee and then relocated to its current location in Atoka in November 1995. While still maintaining current licensure in the state and keeping current with continuing education, Mr. Eckel spends the majority of his time as the headmaster of FaithHeritage Christian Academy located in Millington at FaithHeritage Baptist Church where he has been pastor for over 30 years. M.O. Eckel, Jr. has been married to Joyce Eckel for over 40 years and they have one son, a daughter-in-love, and five grandchildren.

 

  

Dr. M.O. Eckel, III, PT

Dr. M.O. Eckel III, PT, Vice President and Director of Mid-South Physical Therapy, graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992 with his Master of Physical Therapy. Prior to this, in 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Rehabilitation Clinical Management as a “Cum Laude” graduate. In 1988, he graduated from Shelby State Community College with an Associate of Applied Sciences in Physical Therapy and worked as a licensed physical therapy assistant in the Memphis area. In 2003, he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy as a "Graduate with Distinction" from Des Moines University. M.O. Eckel III is a member of the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office since 2000 and serves in various capacities, including S.W.A.T. and bloodhound handler. He is an active member of FaithHeritage Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. He recently played an active role as treasurer in the successful campaign for Sheriff J.T. ‘Pancho’ Chumley. M.O. married his wife, Audrey, in 1992 and they have five children; M.O. IV, Amy-Ann, Boone, Hannah, and Noah.

 

  

Ms. Teresa McCornnell , PTA

Teresa McConnell, PTA, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Shelby State Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy in1991. She has been an employee at Mid-South Physical Therapy since 1995. She served in the US Navy Reserves from 1988-1996. She attends Christ Church Bartlett and sings in the choir. She lives in Tipton County with her husband, David, and has two sons, Justin and Christopher.

 

  

Mr. Calvin Carter , MA

Calvin D. Carter, Sr. is the Fitness Director and Work Conditioning Coordinator at Mid-South Physical Therapy and Fitness Center. He served in the US Navy where he attended tech school at Fort Sam Houston for physical therapy assistant and has worked at burn centers, hospitals, and outpatient physical therapy facilities. He has over 20 years of rehab experience. He graduated with a B.A. from Grambling University and received a Master of Arts from the University of Arkansas while serving in the US Navy. He is currently working on a nutrition and fitness certification. Calvin enjoys working with people, writing and playing music, and playing chess. Calvin has been married for 23 years to his wife, Pam, and has two children, Calvin, Jr. and Jasmine. He and his family attend Greater New Hope Church of God and Christ.County.

 

  

Ms. Katrina Skerritt

Katrina Skerritt is the Accounts Director at Mid-South Physical Therapy and Fitness Center. She grew up near Seattle, Washington where she joined the US Navy as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician. Katrina served twenty years, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. She earned a Bachelor of Human Resource Management from Park University, Parkville, Missouri. After retiring from active duty, she worked as the Fitness Coordinator and Outdoor Pool Manager for the MWR Department at Naval Support Activity Mid-South. Katrina is a certified Fitness Specialist with the Cooper Institute, a certified Fitness Leader with American Fitness Professionals and Associates (AFPA), and an American Red Cross Water Safety

 

  

Ms. LaShanda Morrell

LaShanda Morrell is the Administrative Assistant at Mid-South Physical Therapy and Fitness Center. She was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee but has traveled the country with her husband and four children over the last 10 years. She is the spouse of an active duty military soldier. She graduated from the Academy of Health Professions in San Diego, California in 2000 with a certificate in Medical and Dental Administration. She attends New Direction Christian Church and enjoys spending lots of time with her family.
